Thou whose only desire is that all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well:
  Share our rejoicings.

As the United States celebrates Veterans Day (Nov. 11), we pray for all who have served in the armed forces, for the veterans who came home triumphant, and those who came home broken, for those who still serve today. We pray that they may be honored, that they may be safe, that they may be freed from fear and danger and nightmare memories. Above all, we pray for the day when there shall be no more wars to endanger the lives of anyone, anywhere, in the whole world.

Thou whose only desire is that all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well:
  Hear our longings.

Health care workers are trying to contain it, amid fears that it will spread through the tent camps that still house more than 1 million earthquake survivors.

International aid agencies are mobilizing to immunize more than 3 million people in Congo-Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Angola, to stop a polio outbreak which so far has killed more than 100.

Three months after devastating monsoon floods hit Pakistan, more than 7 million are still without shelter, and millions face possible starvation.

The United Nations World Food Program is expecting to have to cut rations by half this month due to lack of donations.
